How do I enable the Notification Listener permission?
Go to Settings โ Apps โ Special app access โ Notification access, then enable it for RingForge. This permission is required for the app to read and respond to notifications.
Why aren't my RingForge working?
Check these common issues: 1) Ensure Notification Listener permission is enabled. 2) Make sure the app's notification permission is granted (Android 13+). 3) Disable battery optimization for the app. 4) Check that your rule is enabled and matches the notification criteria.
How do I set RingForge?
Create a new rule, tap on 'Sound', and select any audio file from your device. Supported formats include MP3, WAV, OGG, and M4A. You can also use the system ringtone picker.
What do Pro features include?
Pro features include: unlimited rules and groups (free version has limits), notification delay, rate limiting to prevent spam, custom volume control, and active time windows. It's a one-time purchase with no subscription.
How do rules and groups work?
Groups organize your rules by app or category. Each group can have multiple rules with different conditions. Rules match notifications based on app, title, or content text. When a notification matches, the rule's custom sound, vibration, and other settings are applied.
Will this app drain my battery?
The app uses minimal battery as it only activates when notifications arrive. However, you should disable battery optimization for the app to ensure it runs reliably. Go to Settings โ Battery โ Battery optimization โ All apps โ RingForge โ Don't optimize.
Can I backup and restore my settings?
Yes! Go to Settings โ Export to save your rules, groups, and settings to a file. Use Import to restore them on the same or a different device. Sound files are not included in the exportโyou'll need to reselect them after importing.
Does this app collect my data?
No. The app processes notifications entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers. Your notification content, rules, and settings are stored locally only. We don't collect any personal information.
